Our Causes

Over 300,000 Americans die each year of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, a median survival rate to discharge of 6.4%. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) combined with bystander use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) more than doubled the chances of surviving out-of-hospital cardiac arrest compared with using CPR alone. Of these events, only 27.4% will receive bystander CPR and just over 2% receive the benefit of Automatic External Defibrillation.

CPR Anytime™ Personal Learning Program allows families, friends, and the general public – those who most likely would never attend a traditional CPR course – to learn the core skills of CPR in just 22 minutes using their own personal kit. The kit contains everything needed to learn basic CPR, and skills can be learned anywhere, from the comfort of a family home to a large community group setting. As AEDs are becoming more prevalent, the need for bystanders trained and unafraid to act increases.

The Fleisher Foundation is a proud sponsor of the CPR Anytime™ program. We raise funds to subsidize group training and distribution of the personal learning program in underserved communities of Southern California and Boston.

Onteora Senior Scholarship
Each year the Fleisher Foundation provides a scholarship to a graduating senior at Onteora High School in Woodstock, NY. The scholarship is given to a graduating senior that will attend a four–year college and who is a leader amongst his or her peers, is innovative, athletic, and strong in math and business skills. In addition, all applicants are required to be certified in CPR.
